WA Farmers Diploma of Agriculture Scholarships

RuralBiz Training is offering four scholarships to study skillsets from the AHC50116 Diploma of Agriculture at Muresk Institute.

The scholarships will cover 50% of the skillset fee.

Suitable for international working holiday makers* and local farm employees who are looking for a career in agriculture.

DESIGNED IN COLLABORATION WITH WAFARMERS and MURESK INSTITUTE this qualification has a delivery mode to suit peak seasonal skill requirements, improving the availability of skills in agriculture particularly for those people who would like to become a farm manager. Completion of both skillsets and independent work module will result in achieving the AHC50116 Diploma of Agriculture.

Skill-sets from the AHC50116 Diploma of Agriculture 

Location 

Muresk Institute, Western Australia 

Scholarship value 

$2,250 per skill-set for up to two skill-sets

Who can apply?  

People who are working or will be working on cropping farms in WA during the course period. The course is designed to fit around crop seeding and harvest times in WA cropping region.

This scholarship is open to Australian citizens and international visitors* in Australia who are on a visa which allows at least 4 months study (e.g. many backpackers).  *subject to visa conditions

Course entry requirements

- WA Year 12 Certificate or equivalent,

- LLN (language, literacy and numeracy) level as measured on the ACER Core Skills Profile for Adults as Exit Level 3 minimum - You will be asked to complete LLN testing during enrolment.

- Working on a cropping farm suitable for completion of assessment tasks

- International students will also have their English language skills assessed

Delivery 

Face to face training at Muresk Institute

3 days/week for 14week intensive blocks for each skill-set, plus separate self-paced flexible tasks completed during farm work periods outside intensive teaching periods.

Course Dates  Skill-set 1 : 6 July 2020 – 16 October 2020
Skill-set 2:  11 January 2021 – 16 April 2021 

How is the Scholarship paid?

Deducted from course fee. 

Course fee payable by student 

The scholarship covers 50% of the skill-set fee. Students are required to pay the remaining $2,250 per skill-set.


Additional information for Australian applicants

Australian students may enrol directly into the AHC50116 Diploma of Agriculture . No upfront payments are required as this course is eligible for either a VET Student Loan (eligibility criteria apply) or our payment plan option. A VET Student loan gives rise to a HELP debt that remains a liability to the commonwealth until it is repaid. Maximum course fee before scholarship is $11,000. 

Additional information for international applicants
International applicants may only enrol in one skill-set at a time subject to visa conditions. A payment plan option is available. International applicants are not eligible for a VET Student Loan.
