Stella Klepper

Stella Klepper of Coolah has spent many years teaching others, however following her retirement her role was reversed. As a student, undertaking the Diploma of Rural Business Management through RuralBiz, Stella took the opportunity to study and research ideas, and develop skills in an area of family interest.

Stella has lived on the family farm near Coolah since 1979, being involved in its running, but the majority of the operational management has been her husband’s responsibility.

“Working full time in an executive teaching position, left little time to be fully involved with the farm business management. I believe this course has given me the knowledge and understanding to develop a farm business plan that can be reviewed and monitored, even though we are dependent upon constantly changing circumstances. It has given me confidence to substantiate my suggestions through factual evidence; an increased understanding of the farm’s capabilities; and an ability to undertake detailed financial analysis of the business” Stella explained. “I have no doubt our business will benefit from this in the long run.”

Rural Biz’s flexible course delivery and home-based learning model is ideal for farmers and can be easily moulded around the time commitments of the farm.

“It is a really practical course, and a convenient method for farmers to study online,” Stella stated “I think it is imperative to keep on learning and with this type of delivery it makes it easy”.
