Linden Ross believes the flexibility of studying by distance is one of the main benefits associated with RuralBiz Training.
Linden, who runs a 108 acre Stone fruit orchard at Hogarth Range in the North East of New South Wales, recently completed his Advanced Diploma of Rural Business Management.
After an advertisement in The Land sparked an interest in undertaking some training with RuralBiz Training, Linden found the Distance education suited his lifestyle.
“I found doing it by distance at my own pace was what suited me,” he said.
“If it was raining outside I could come in and get a bit done."
“The distance training showed me it is possible to study and work at the same time, as long as you apply yourself, you don’t have to choose one or the other.”
Linden was hoping to use this course to improve his management skills, and believes the Advanced Diploma of Rural Business Management has allowed him to achieve this.
“I have done a number of short courses with Sydney Uni and doing my Advanced Diploma was a bit of an extension on that,” he said.
“I mainly wanted to bring my management skills up to date."
“You need to keep your skills relevant and this was a great way to do that.”
