Training Subsidies for Tassie Farmers

Flexible online study that is focused on improving your farm business. 

Expressions of interest are open for agricultural workers to enrol in these courses: 

Practical, relevant course work based on your own farm. No need to travel or attend class at set times! Most students complete a Diploma over 2 years and appreciate the flexibility to fit study around your peak production periods.

The fine print: 

  • Learners must be employed - this includes self employed, casual, part time or full time employment.

  • Learners must meet the course entry requirements including having access to a farm or agricultural business that operates on a commercial scale. Learners will base their assessments on this enterprise and will develop their knowledge of the business in the process of completing their course. 

  • Learners must be a Tasmanian resident with work and study rights - such as being an Australian citizen, permanent resident or approved visa holders (visa holders should contact us for confirmation of eligibility). 

  • The learners employer must pay the specified contribution - for businesses with less than 20 full time equivalent employees the contribution is 10%.  Larger business should contact us to discuss. 

  • Subsidised by Tasmanian Skills Fund, Dept of State Growth to approved applicants. Successful applications will be notified and training is expected to commence in early 2023.
