Julie Emerson from Wallanbah NSW is currently studying a Certificate IV in Agriculture with RuralBiz Training. “My husband and I are both Sydney people, so when we purchase the farm three years ago, friends said we were crazy. But we bought the farm with the intention of spending time between Sydney and Gloucester when we retired.
With Julie in the process of retiring and her husband retiring in the next couple of years, it became a priority to know as much as possible about the obligations and regulations regarding farming cattle. “We knew nothing about farming which is why I started the course. I really wanted to do the course online as I am a long way from anywhere that might be offering the course face to face. RuralBiz have been fantastic!!”
“The course is really well run, well presented and easy to follow. I have learnt so much about all the different parts of how to manage our farm. The assessments have meant I have had to really think about my farm, not just learning stuff out of a book - such a great way to study - it made it so real for me. Finally, the Agforums!! They are such a wonderful way to connect with other farmers from around the country. Everybody has such great stories and such interesting lives!! Even though I am studying online, I am not doing it all myself!”
