After finishing my Trade I always wanted to experience outback stations and that’s what I have done! Living in North QLD we are surrounded by agriculture and I have had the pleasure of working on cattle stations around Winton, Hughenden, Richmond and currently I am based at Charters Towers working on a research station for the Department of Primary Industries (DPI).
The training was highly relevant to our work on the farm. I enjoyed learning new skills, and the course strengthened my knowledge across many areas of agriculture, especially livestock breeding and the use of EBVs. The trainers were always available when I needed support, and I particularly enjoyed the online AgForum discussions. It was valuable to learn about other farmers’ operations and the strategies they use to stay successful.
