Darcie-Lee completed her primary and secondary schooling in Cloncurry. Following her education, she joined Cloncurry Shire Council as an Airport Reporting Officer. In 2023 Darcie-Lee was internally recruited as the Local Laws Officer. It was in this role where Darcie-Lee’s passion for weed management, animal welfare and biosecurity were born.
“As a long-term resident of North-West Queensland, I chose to study with RuralBiz Training as I didn’t want to leave my hometown or family in the remote town of Cloncurry. I was seeking to improve my skills and knowledge to continue to positively contribute to the growth and improvement of the region. I'm proud to say the knowledge I’ve gained throughout the course has strengthened my everyday role allowing me to better support everyone across the shire, including residents, property owners and our wider rural community.
